He is! He's an inukshuk!!! which is like the funnest word ever to say :) And the purpose of inukshuks are to be trail markers and guide posts - especially in areas where the natural landscape doesn't leave much to go by.
The 2010 guy is called "Ilanaaq" which is the Inuit word for friend. Man I need to get out of here - I know way too much about this.
